Richard A. Drake

Richard A. Drake is a founding partner of the law firm Barski Drake, PLC and concentrates his practice in bankruptcy, business and corporate law, commercial litigation, and complex divorce.  With an education and experience in business, law, and technology, he represents a variety of clients. 

True to his rule as a counselor, Rich makes a conscious effort to anticipate his client’s needs coupled with their personal and business circumstance and goals, before offering pragmatic counsel. He is particularly adept at swathing through distraction and corolloray issues to resolve core problems.

During law school, he was an Associate Editor for the Arizona State Law Journal. While attending law school, Rich also obtained his Master's of Business Administration from ASU's top-30 ranked W.P. Carey School of Business.  Prior to law school, he worked for 5 years as a systems engineer for companies Telus, Intel, and the Salt River Project.

Experience

Successfully litigated numerous contractual and statutory claims for individuals, homeowners, contractors, and businesses.

Representing individuals and business filing for protections under chapters 7, 11, and 13 of the bankruptcy code.

Representing a number of individuals in fraud and misrepresentation claims in both state superior court and federal Bankruptcy court.

Rich continues to build a roster of companies that select him as their outside counsel leveraging his combined business and legal knowledge.

Representing men and women in complex dissolution, child custody, and child support matters. Rich utilizes the skills honed from his MBA education to analyze financial statements and corporate documents to successfully unlock the “hidden” income of self-employed parties and ensure that his clients get the maximum legal child support and spousal maintenance amounts, and conversely to protect client's assets and income.

Rich holds dual U.S. and Canadian citizenship and represents Canadian individuals and business with operations and interests in the US, and those thatdesire to obtain them.
